The Columbia River Institute of Massage Therapy was founded in 2011 with the vision of creating a very small, very high-quality training program for aspiring massage therapists.
From the start, the school has been designed as a program that focuses on the talents and strengths of each individual student. Class sizes are limited and there is plenty of time for one-on-one interaction. We know each student very well and cater to that student’s particular learning style. Our class activities are designed to give students the ability to individualize each experience.
Bodywork is a combination of art and science.
In order to achieve this balance, we offer a strong curriculum of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology while also striving to discover and enhance the unique artistic ability of each person.
Columbia River Institute has one dedicated instructor in addition to several guest instructors. We find that having one instructor per class enables the students to connect more deeply with the teacher and create a mentoring program rather than just a school program.
Annie LaCroix, LMP, is the owner and primary instructor at Columbia River Institute.
Annie serves on the Board of the American Massage Therapy Association, Washington Chapter. She owned a private massage therapy practice before opening the school in 2011. She is a passionate entrepreneur and is actively involved in the success of all her graduates.
